Drugs on the Loose

Recently, during a raid in the Ruddell Hill community two agencies found drugs, money, a gun, scanner, and cameras. The raid was conducted by the Independence County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
 The agencies armed with a search warrant raided 80 Dry Run Circle and five people were arrested on drug related charges. Independence County Sheriff Steve Jeffery said the two departments found $1,040 in cash, 37 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, a 9mm handgun, and a police scanner. Also found were a set of fully operational surveillance cameras.
 Arrested from the residence and taken into custody were Mildred Mabry, 65, and Jennifer Burke, 19, both of Batesville, James Johns, 33, of Newport and David Williams, 47, of St. Louis. Michelle Burke was at a local store when the raid occurred and was arrested later.
 Johns was also held for parole violations and Williams also had a warrant in Missouri. Michelle Burke was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Mildred Mabry and Jennifer Burke can also be charged with illegally distributing meth and other controlled substances along with possession of drugs and firearms.
