The reflecting pools are placed in the spots of the first World Trade Center's, and are as deep as the original foundation. The pools have a 30 foot drop, the same dept the frist World Trade Center's where set in. since the pools are in the same places as the original WTC buildings it is believed that the same foundation was used.
